Uganda: The Trip of A Lifetime

In December of 2010, I was blessed to take my first international trip to Uganda, East Africa. As a part of Change the Truth Team 4, I spent 8 days working with +150 kids at St. Mary Kevin Orphanage in the city of Kajjansi. I taught karate to the boys, ran 3 miles to swim in Lake Victoria with 60 of the kids, danced, sang, laughed, cried, prayed with my fellow Muslims, rode on a motorcycle for the first time, got lost (only to find myself), tried to play soccer, hopefully inspired, and definitely was inspired by the experience as a whole. Saying I want to go back does not convey the part of me that is still standing in that red clay-like dirt. Insha'Allah (God willing), I will be blessed to return. Change the Truth
