Much has been written about the tenure of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. While I could delve into my opinions on his reign over the country, and the hypocritical innocence America attempts to portray, I feel there are issues much more prevalent to be discussed. Primarily, when will the leaders of society decide that the loss of human lives is superior to any political, monetary, and/or imperialistic pursuit? No country involved (Syria, Russia, US, Iran, Israel, etc) can claim unstained hands. Nonetheless, while the leaders of these countries bicker with each other, like kids at a playground swing set, countless lives are being lost and altered by the tools (toys) of destruction we have turned into a business (COD anyone???). This article states that optimism may be on the rise for Syria. However, the pessimist in me feels as if the damage has already been done. No treaty is going to erase the turmoil fellow human beings have faced for the past several months. So, when I ask, "When Will It End?", my question pertains to more than Syria. My question reaches out to all global injustices (Israel vs Palestine, Israel vs Iran, LRA vs Central Africa, USA vs...anyone we don't like? etc...). Have we been conditioned to only care about what we think effects us directly? Are we more concerned with where Peyton Manning will play next year? Until we decide that no human life is more important than another, I don't see this foolishness coming to an end. Snooki will continue to grab headlines for being pregnant, haters will still find ways to diss legit causes like KONY 2012, and bombs will continue to be dropped in Syria. Eh!!! I could really go for some good news right now!!!

Syria: When Will It End?
